SI Announces New Projector Screen ” EZ-snap “ Frames at 2008 CEDIA Expo

~ Catering to the Needs and Requests of its Customers, SI’s New “ EZ-snap ” Frames Install in Minutes as Well as Provide an Option to Curve the Frame ~

Austin, Texas, August 8, 2008 – SI (www.siscreens.com) is proud to announce that it will unveil its new Reference and Performance Series “EZ-snap” projector screen frame system at the 2008 CEDIA Expo, held in Denver from Sept. 4-7 at the Colorado Convention Center, booth 1056. The new “EZ-snap” system is scheduled to begin shipping in October.

“This represents the next evolution in creating the ultimate home theater experience,” explained Aaron Reilly, SI CTO “Our customers love our new projector screens, but have been asking for an enhanced and quicker way of installing them. SI’s new Reference and Performance ‘EZ-snap’ Frames with sliding attachment points are the answer that sets the standard for high-end fixed projector screen frames and material tensioning systems.”

The new “EZ-snap” system installs in minutes and, when compared to all other snap systems, maintains improved uniformity of perimeter tension. This dramatically reduces tension points that eventually create screen sag over time. “EZ-snap” has even retained the benefits of SI’s existing T-Line attachment system, but provides a much quicker installation.

“‘EZ-snap’ screen materials install in less than five minutes, and have zero learning curve,” Reilly continued. “Its performance is equal to or better than T-Line, so our existing customers need not worry that they are sacrificing performance for ease of install. They are getting the best of both worlds.”

The new “EZ-snap” system will be the same price as the current Performance and Reference series SI products.

SI’s New “Screen Wizard” Helps Customers Select the Correct Projector Screen Material

~ One of the Most Powerful Tools in the Industry Educates Beginners, Videophiles, and Even Sales Personnel on Selecting Most Appropriate Screen Materials for any Home Theater Room and Application ~

Austin, SI is proud to announce that its new “Screen Wizard” (www.siscreens.com/partners/wizard/index.php) projector screen selection tool is now active. SI’s Screen Wizard is the most powerful tool in the industry that educates beginners, videophiles, and sales personnel on selecting the best screen and screen materials for any front projection application.

“SI’s Screen Wizard guides the user through selecting the correct screen material based on the room’s lighting, projector’s specifications, screen ratio, and screen size,” explained Aaron Reilly, SI CTO. “Each of these variables is computed by the wizard to help customers and salespeople achieve the ultimate picture quality based on SMPTE standards.”

Selecting, selling, and buying two-piece projection systems can be one of the most daunting processes in the industry. More often than not, one sells or selects the incorrect screen material and/or projector because they don’t take into account the environment it is to be installed and utilized in. SI’s Screen Wizard fills a void in the marketplace by providing an educational platform for the user to select the optimal screen and screen material based on a number of parameters, including:

  • screen ratio (16:9, 4:3; 2.35:1)
  • room light level
  • projector specifications (lumens and contrast ratio)
  • screen size

The Screen Wizard will then provide the user with a list of recommended screens depending on the data input, and will rate the recommended projector and screen combinations on a Poor, Acceptable, Good, or Excellent contrast performance scale.
